About Sam B Gunn
Experienced Estate Planning Guidance You Can Trust
Sam recently celebrated fifty years of practicing law. He has enjoyed helping generations of families with their legal matters. For the last half of his career, Sam’s practice has focused primarily on estate planning, including wills and trusts, and on assisting clients with the administration of a deceased loved one’s estate in an orderly, efficient, and cost-effective manner, whether that involves settling a trust, probating an estate, or using alternatives to probate to distribute assets, when available.
Sam most recently served as an “of counsel” attorney at Gunn Mackenzie PLLC, which he sold to his partner, Brian E. Mackenzie, in 2024. With Brian’s unexpected death in 2025, Sam has started a new journey by forming Sam B Gunn Law Firm PLLC.
Sam is a member and past president of the Estate Planning Council of SW Washington. He looks forward to applying his extensive experience to help his former clients and their families, as well as potential new clients, with their legal matters.
Sam is involved in the community. He served on the Vancouver Public Schools Board of Directors from 1993 to 2005. He is a charter member and past president of Salmon Creek Lions Club. He is a die-hard Seattle Mariners fan. Sam and his wife, Vonda, have six children, fourteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
